This project along 14th, 15th and 16th Streets in downtown Minneapolis includes added bicycle lanes and experimental treatments that may help cyclists. Signs, stripes for bike lanes, and bicycle racks are all part of this project.
Choosing transit as a family When I was young, my grandfather would take me and
my sister on bus rides to the end of the line just for fun! Now I am a parent
making transit work for my family and a transportation policy researcher by profession.
The first "Bikes May Use Full Lane" signs (in this region) have now been erected on Marshall Ave in St. Paul (between Cretin Ave. and the river). The sign reinforces existing traffic law that allows bicyclists to "take the lane" when it is necessary for their safety.... like going downhill fast! Don't be shy—position your bicycle in the center of the lane and hold your position.
