Bicyclists
have the same rights as motorists and can legally ride on any street
that's not a freeway, but good route planning will make your ride safer.
By providing great opportunities for bicyclists and pedestrians to connect with transit, Metro Transit helps hundreds of people reach their destinations without ever getting in a car.
Advocating for new opportunities I walk and ride my bike and am working
with my local neighborhood association, Metro Regional Chamber of Commerce and
others to make sure that Minneapolis serves all residents well.
Watch for the first "Bicyclist Use Full Lane" sign on
Marshall Ave in St. Paul. It may look like this. The sign acknowledges how
cyclists can travel more safely on the downhill to the river, and alerts
motorists to give clearance by passing in the left lane. Don't be shy—position your bicycle in the center of the lane and hold your position.
